New Zealander Lotteries

New Zealand's lottery generates revenue to support recreation, the arts, community projects and sports.

In February 1986, the Cabinet approved the introduction of Lotto. The New Zealand Lotteries Commission was formed in June 1987.

The first lottery tickets were sold on 22 July 1987.

The lottery games now offered include Lotto, Lotto Powerball, Lotto Strike, Big Wednesday, Keno, Bullseye and Instant Kiwi.
